This page is the entry point to a host of resources for students, educators, and young volunteers to get organised, get informed, get active!
Vinnies supports the engagement of Children and Young People through their educational institutions from ELC, through school, and right up to University, including boarding houses and Residential colleges.
Along the way, young people often choose to engage with Vinnies outside of the school environment through Volunteering in a Vinnies Shop, for specific events, activities, or fundraisers, or as a full member of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) locally and/or as part of the Youth Conference.
Vinnies provides supervision, training, support, materials, and regular opportunities for collaboration with others, growth in skills, and affecting impact around social action and advocacy.
Schools provide a wonderfully supportive mechanism to encourage entry level activism among students. Upper primary students can be involved in their school's social action group under the 'Mini Vinnies' program and their younger peers can be encouraged to participate.
Secondary students can lead or participate in fundraising, donation drives, or advocacy around existing appeals or their own preferred social issues at their school with the support of school leadership.
Under the school-hub model, local schools can work together with the support of Vinnies for increased impact and action around a shared initiative. To start a school hub, at least three schools and six students need to be identified to form the responsible taskforce.
